From the current terminus at Wilshire/Western, the Purple Line Extension will extend westward for about 9 miles with seven new stations. It will provide a high-capacity, high-speed, dependable alternative for those traveling to and from LA’s “second downtown.” Section 2 of the three sections will deliver 2.55 miles of twin-bored tunnels and two new stations at Wilshire/Rodeo and Century City Constellation.
Tutor Perini/O&G JV (TPOGJV) is a fully integrated joint venture between Tutor Perini Corporation as the Managing Partner, and O & G Industries, Inc. (O&G). TPOGJV is proposing as the Design-Builder for the Purple Line Section 2 D-B project.
Originally founded in 1884, Tutor Perini has a record of significant and successful performance on some of the largest and most complex projects in the City of Los Angeles and throughout California, and they are ranked 10th on Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) Top 400 Contractors list for 2015, and ranked 2nd among companies with a headquarters in California for general construction, transportation construction, and heavy construction.
O&G brings more than 90 years of experience in numerous locations nationwide, and has worked on large Design-Bid-Build and D-B projects in the Los Angeles area. They understand how to successfully and safely construct large complex subterranean excavations, having provided contractor designed support-of-excavations and completed concrete structures in heavily congested urban environments from design through final completion.
STV Incorporated (STV) is the lead engineering firm and architect of record. For more than 100 years, STV has helped develop some of North America’s most notable transit projects. Rail is STV’s legacy business, a core market with continued success, and a cornerstone of the firm’s foundation. STV is currently ranked 8th in ENR’s Top 25 in Mass Transit and Rail category and 9th in the Top 50 in the Transportation category.
This team was assembled specifically to address the goals and needs of the Purple Line Extension project, and to help Metro extend mobility west through the Los Angeles area.

Metro Prequalifcation Process
All team member firms must be pre-qualified to do business with Metro. An approved pre-qualification is valid for a period of 2 years from issuance. If your firm has an approved pre-qualification that does not expire before July 2016, your firm only needs to submit the Pre-Qualification Validation form (page 12 of PRO FORM 130) before the proposal due date. If your firm does not have an approved pre-qualification application or it expires prior to July 2016, your firm needs to submit PRO FORM 130 prior to the proposal due date. The TPOGJV team is requesting that all team member firms have this process completed at least one month prior to the proposal due date.
